So, I'm 6 hours away from starting my (hopefully) last semester of college for my associates degree.
The end of this semester will mark a full 7 semesters - 2 and 1/2 years time - that the college that I'm attending (Kellogg Community College, if you must know) - has been a pain in my ass.
Here's why...
Right off from the bat, the first round of registration for my freshman year... they llost the financial aid forms. Not misplaced, or incorrectly filed... we're talking LOST.Nowhere to be found. This would require all of the forms to be re-filled out and re-submitted. Fortunetly, in my case, it was as simple as making duplicates of the copies I kept for myself.
The very first day of class - of my freshman year - the first day, as I'm walking up the steps for my first class... Monday morning, at 8am... the fountain right at the main steps was overflowing and running down the steps and into the street. This went on like this for the better part of the week until they were able to get it fixed.
Along the way, they've changed the course requirements in the middle of my degree - thus requiring someone to be dedicated to handing scheduling SNAFUs such as this. I now have to go to this designated person for ANY scheduling issues, as my course selections are so complicated that the normal advisory staff wants nothing to do with it.
And finally, to top off a long list of things I really am too lazy to type... I am less than 6 hours away from my first class... a 10am class...meaning I'm writing this at 4;15am, and I cannot access my class schedule because this new semester is not yet an option in their online web portal thing.
Why don't I transfer? Well, all 24 credits of my Microsoft Classes, among other specialized courses, do NOT transfer to the other instutuion I want to attend. Why? Because the other college has nothing to line them up with. So I'm stuck at KCC until I get the degree.
To wrap this up..after this semester, good riddens KCC. You will NOT be missed.
